My Favorite Ribs For Christmas

December 15, 2021
Can you believe I never tried ribs until last year? And when I finally did it was pretty amazing. This is the best ribs-recipe I've ever tried.

Ingredients

~1,5 kg ribs
5 dl porter beer
1 dl Japanese soy
2 dl syrup
1 tsp chilliflakes (I use a lot more, season to your preference)
2 dl apple juice
2 yellow onions (sliced to triangle dices)
2 tsp salt
2 tsp pepper

How to prepare them:

Put the oven to 175°C.

I like to start by slicing the ribs to slightly smaller pieces, just enough so they fit into the oven safe pan. Then I rub the ribs with salt to make them tender.

I prepare the porter beer, soy, syrup, apple juice, onions and spices in another pan. They should boil slightly for ~10 minutes.

I put the ribs in the oven safe pan, then pour the fluid over them.

They should cook in the oven for 1 hour. After one hour, take them out and flip them around so all of them get cooked evenly. Cook for another 45 minutes in the oven.

Check if they look like you'd like them to look, if they're pale, put the oven to maximum heat and cook for another 10 minutes.
